ABOUT DENNIS ZONGKER
Dennis is from Omaha, Nebraska, where he grew up. As the co-owner of Zongkers Custom Woods, Inc., he has dedicated his life to the art of woodworking since 1984. His journey began with a passion for designing and constructing custom furniture, and over the years, he has honed his skills to specialize in intricate carving and marquetry. This dedication to his craft has not only shaped his career but has also allowed him to create unique pieces that reflect both artistry and functionality.
Throughout his extensive career, he has contributed to the woodworking community by writing detailed, step-by-step articles for several prestigious publications, including Woodcarving and Furniture and Cabinetmaking Magazine from the UK, as well as Woodcarving Illustrated. His expertise culminated in the publication of his first book, "Wooden Boxes," by Taunton Press in 2013, which showcases his innovative designs and techniques. In addition to his writing, Dennis is passionate about sharing his knowledge with others, currently teaching classes that cover various aspects of woodworking, including carving, marquetry, and box making.
